The Views from Palladio's View
If you have looked at the guest book pages of our website you will see repeated references to the spectacular views from Palladio’s View. There are, of course, excellent views from many villas on St. John. However, what makes Palladio’s View special in this regard is the way in which the design of the villa accentuates the views.
First, Palladio’s View sits below its access road and driveway at 500' on a rather steep hillside. As a result, there are no other structures, trees, or telephone poles or wires to mar the views. Second, Palladio’s View steps down the hillside, from the upper bedroom floor of the center pod, to the kitchen and inside dining area below, to the two bedroom/bathroom pods and the living room that connects them, to a large open, tiled deck, to the spa deck, to the pool deck.
A result of this design, each level a few steps below the last, is that there are wonderful views to Coral Bay and beyond from every room in the villa. The only exceptions are the two bathrooms behind the lower bedrooms. However, each bathroom has an open air shower that offers its own views. Because there is a large pass-through from the kitchen to the lower living room and a kitchen window that looks out on beautiful tropical plants, the cooks and bottle washers never feel removed from the beauty of the island and its tropical waters.
Words do not do justice to the sensation one has on the decks of the villa – it’s like standing on the bridge of a ship.
